Overlays have different requirements and some jobs require pre-leveling to prevent current issues from reoccurring. An asphalt overlay is a new layer of S-3 hot asphalt applied to a structurally sound (repaired if necessary) but worn and deteriorating surface. New paving areas are excavated of debris, 4”-6” of base materials installed and compacted using a vibratory roller. We apply SSI Tack Coat to asphalt.

The asphalt is level and compacted with a vibratory roller. Technical Specs: All asphalt is laid with a minimum temperature of approx. 280 degrees F mol. Thickness based on an ‘average’ thickness of approx. 1”-1.25” in field placement. Silicia Sand is added to reduce powering steering marks.
